Join La Trienal curators in discussion with artist, MR Barnadas of Collective Magpie about their online survey, Who Designs Your Race?, which takes on the context of the census and other race-related survey practices. Available for the public to complete, the data collected will inform Collective Magpie of their infographics. Who Designs Your Race? is a commissioned online artists’ project, which will be displayed as part of ESTAMOS BIEN – LA TRIENAL 20/21.

 –Are invited to collaborate together with artists of Collective Magpie to activate public spaces on both sides of the MX/US border.
Over 12 weeks in Fall 2017 (September 29 – December 15) seminar participants will research, design, facilitate, and critique public art interventions through the lens of contemporary art practices, history, and theory, supported by a shared investigation and translation of artworks from the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD). Collectively, students will engage with the social complexities of urban space in both Tijuana and San Diego as sites of research, art and object production. The course will take place in Downtown, MCASD with multiple site visits to Tijuana and San Diego.

As the president-elect Trump officially takes office on inauguration day Jan 20th, 2017 we are holding a Globos workshop,TJ // AGUAS // CAUTION // AGUAS // SDin an effort to open new bridges of conversation through the border.This community workshop will take place in collaboration with artists of Relaciones Inesperadas in the neighborhood of Ruíz Cortínez, Tijuana. There will be artist presentations, conversations, Hot air balloon making and more. This is in partnership with Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.

More workshops will continue at the El Trompo children’s museum in Tijuana on Saturdays and Sundays,  Jan 14 – April 30, 1-4pm
